Role Overview:
As a Data Scientist I on our software development team, you will empower our HVAC business to work smarter by building and optimizing internal automation tools. Your work will enhance operational efficiency, support data-driven decision-making, and improve processes core to our growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop models to forecast workflow variables and automate tasks related to estimating, accounting, sales, and project management.
Apply supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning to solve real-world problems in business automation and process optimization.
Evaluate and enhance existing algorithms for efficiency and accuracy, supporting high-impact business functions.
Conduct data-driven research and apply probabilistic time series forecasting and deep learning for office automation use cases.
Champion best practices across model development and implementation, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and easy to use by our team.
Maintain a high standard of quality and reliability in all solutions.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience with (or academic exposure to):
Python and C/C# for building data-driven automation pipelines
Quick learning and adaptation to new tools/technologies
Databases: RDBMS, NoSQL, time series databases
Machine learning concepts suitable for business process data (feature engineering, cross-validation, boosting)
Building and deploying ML models for various ML paradigms, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning (CNNs, GBDTs, GANs, Deep Q Learning)
ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, LightGBM, and API wrappers like Keras
