Horse boarding / training facility is seeking helper. Duties would include but not be limited to: Mowing, servicing equipment, building fence, traveling to shows. Saddling horses, processing cattle, running a loader tractor. Riding experience is not required. Light welding experience would be preferred. This is a live in position for a single person with housing and utilities paid. ( I might consider a couple) Applicant must be able bodied, willing to work and above all, be honest and dependable. There will be a background check. This is a lifestyle as much as it is a job. If you travel with me to shows you will drive pulling a trailer with horses. We will be gone to shows on weekends sometimes including Sundays. I expect 5 1/2 to 6 days per week depending on what we are doing. If you work Sunday you will get a weekday off. What we do is generally low key but we like to get things done. You need to be able to work without direct supervision, if you have worked on a farm before, you get it. Horses and cattle have to eat every day just like us. This needs to be what you want to do, not just a way to get by. If you have a resume, attach it. If you don't, why not? I probably don't need to talk to you if you don't have a resume.
I missed a lot of the early responses due to my spam blocker. Going through those now, best I can. Attention job seekers: You should tell a potential employer as much about yourself and abilities as you can. I want to know why you want this job vs another and why you think you would be good at it. I can barely find the time to read all these and I sure cannot respond to all of them. I am not looking for a job hopper and just being out of work is a good motivator you to find work, but it is not a good motivator for me to hire. If you respond with one line that you are interested because you are out of work, you will not get a response back from me or likely anybody else. If you are not interested in the western lifestyle, this is not the job for you. If you want to rodeo on weekends, this is not the job for you. If you have had three jobs in the last year, this is not the job for you. You cannot imagine how many responses I get from an ad like this. Of all the responses I will likely interview three or four and those will be picked from the ones that appear to be the best fit.
