Hello Craigslist! I'm Tanner, a partner here at Rayford Roofing. We're a family-owned business established in 2017, serving most of the TX market. I'm looking for a full-time outside customer service rep. Description of the job below. MUST have reliable transportation - you will be doing a lot of driving all around DFW. This is a 1099 position.
Job Description: We need someone to "sit" permit inspections. Typically this means driving out to a job site where solar panels have been installed, and sitting and waiting for the city inspector to show up. Sometimes they give exact times, but usually they give a 4-hour window, so there will be a LOT of downtime at this job. This is a perfect job for someone who likes reading or has some kind of hobby they can do while sitting and waiting for inspectors. The only reason anyone doesn’t like this job is the downtime.
I have 2-3 inspections per day, 5 days a week. So this is a full-time job. We pay $150 per inspection flat rate. That means many days you'll be making $300 (if 2 inspections) or even $450 (if 3). Why is the pay relatively high? Because honestly this is a very boring job and entails a lot of driving. 95% of your job will be spent either driving or in downtime, sitting in your car outside of a jobsite and waiting for the city inspector to show up.
Must have very reliable transportation. Proof of auto insurance required.
Each day you will "clock in" by sending us a text showing that you're in front of the house by 8 am. And then on the next inspection same thing. Must be available for the entire 4-hour inspection window, which means bringing lunch with you. We can't miss the inspector.
Occasionally you will need to get on a roof, and we will provide a 1-story A-frame ladder that folds up and can go in your back seat or the trunk of your car. I prefer customer service people for this job rather than roofers.
