This position is also responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure department achieves designated business outcomes.What you’ll do:
Coach and counsel employees; communicate job expectations; monitor, appraise, and review job contributions; plan and review compensation actions; communicate and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Develop, implement, and maintain organization-wide accounting structures and systems to ensure financial/asset security and compliance with all state and federal laws as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Oversee and monitor daily operations of assigned areas to ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting systems and internal controls
Monitor Financials. Coordinate the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data. Prepare standard and special reports.
Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and making recommendations.
Maintain knowledge of best practices, and current and proposed legislation and regulation; recommend changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent; MBA preferred
10+ years of accounting experience preferred
Minimum 3 years’ people management
Cross-functional knowledge of business and accounting
Able to influence and lead a team to expected outcomes
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate across all levels
Able to analyze and resolve complex issues
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Process orientation with a focus on quality and efficiency
Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
