We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life.Essential Duties:
Perform maintenance and repair of electrical systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-facility repair is not possible.
Locate circuit breakers and isolate circuits to perform work safely.
Troubleshoot issues with electrical and electronics systems.
Perform new installations including bending conduit and pulling wire.
Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e., painting, as directed.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED) required .
Three (3) years full-time, wage-earning electrician in maintenance, construction, or industrial environment experience.
Completion of an apprenticeship program may be substitute for two (2) years of required experience.
—OR –
Graduation from electrical maintenance or construction program from equivalent technical trade school or vocational school may be substituted for two (2) years of required experience.
—OR –
Graduation from a program in electrical maintenance or construction from a U.S. military technical training school may be substitute for two (2) years of required experience.
A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Must successfully complete annual background checks and in-service training requirements, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
