We are looking for a talented and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team and grow with us. Our company has been in business in the Austin area for over 20 years. In this role, you will be required to manage all shop personnel, as well as oversee the production of cabinets & ensure on-time delivery. Flawless end results are pinnacle.
Previous cabinet construction knowledge is a must! No experience in the cabinet industry, need not apply.
The ideal candidate will need to be detail- oriented, highly organized and have a strong background in the custom cabinet manufacturing industry. Candidate will be a team player and continuously strive to improve departmental and over-all company performance and goals.
Essential Skills:
Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and guide a team of cabinet makers. Bilingual is a plus.
Woodworking Expertise: Proven experience in all aspects of custom cabinetry construction, minimum 5 years hands-on experience.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of production.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and other stakeholders.
Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Safety Consciousness: Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervising and Managing Staff:
Assigning tasks, mentoring junior craftsmen, and addressing personnel issues. Notifying HR of any employee concerns.
Project Management:
Overseeing project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met, and coordinating with designers, project managers, and installers.
Quality Control:
Ensuring all products meet quality standards before delivery or installation, proactively correcting defects. Work with Shop QC team to ensure quality controls are met before leaving the shop.
Safety Enforcement:
Enforce safety regulations and OSHA standards, maintaining a safe working environment. Work with the safety manager to ensure compliance.
Material and Inventory Management:
Coordinating materials, managing inventory, and notifying purchasing of any needed materials.
Technical Proficiency:
Verify equipment is operating correctly and maintaining woodworking machinery, potentially including CNC routers and edge banders, and performing tasks like cutting, milling, assembly, and finishing.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving issues related to equipment, workflow, and production processes.
Communication and Collaboration:
Interacting with other departments, such as design, project management, and installation and service, to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
Individuals must be reliable, hardworking and have transportation. Hours are 7:00 3:45, possibilities for overtime. PTO, Vacation, 401K & health insurance offered after waiting period.
