Maintenance Technician
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician in Austin, TX for one of our properties.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Complete daily make-ready and work orders as scheduled.
Routinely walks the property to clean the grounds also checking for problems to report back to the Supervisor.
Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
Maintain good working relationships with all staff members.
Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.
Performs maintenance and repairs in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, painting, and other building repairs.
HVAC CERTIFIED Preferred
This position will also include painting.
Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.
Ability to respond to emergencies on time.
Be able to complete all forms required.
Maintain professional image.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Have a valid driver's license/insurance and reliable vehicle.
Be on a call emergency service rotation.
Applicants must pass a background & drug screening check.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
PRE-REQUISITES:
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent. Trade school, technical or vocational certification in carpentry or construction a plus. Must speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. English
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in all residential construction and maintenance.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment
Knowledge of material, specifications, quality control, and cost control
Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment
Ability to organize assigned tasks and complete relevant paperwork
Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and make basic decisions
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Knowledge of general plumbing/electric
Must have a clean driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires ability to perform tasks in all areas and aspects of residential construction with normal hazards associated with the construction environment
Requires ability to walk, stand, stoop, climb ladders for heights up to 60 feet, and to crawl for distances up to 50 feet
Requires ability to work with tools, equipment, lumber, and other construction materials
Requires ability to lift, carry, and manipulate objects up to 80 lbs for 50 feet.
COMPENSATION:
The full-time position offers benefits and pay starting at $22.50 per hour based on experience.
