Now Hiring Part-Time Art Instructors – Summer Session (South Austin)
Cordovan Art School is currently hiring passionate and skilled Art Instructors for our upcoming Summer Session, beginning May 27th, in the South West Austin area. We’re looking for artists with a foundation in traditional art who are excited to teach and inspire children and teens in a fun, creative environment.
Although this is a summer role, we're often able to offer continued teaching opportunities to those who are a great fit.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Strong skills in traditional painting and drawing techniques
Proficiency in a variety of art mediums, including acrylics, watercolor, and pastels
A cheerful, upbeat, and positive personality — essential for connecting with students
Excellent communication skills, especially with children and young teens
Previous teaching or instructional experience (preferred)
Experience or interest in clay and anime art (a plus!)
Availability for weekday summer camps (mornings and/or afternoons)
Requirements:
Must provide a portfolio showcasing your artwork
Must be able to communicate well with children
Previous teaching experience preferred
Schedule & Pay:
Part-time / Contract position
$22.00 – $25.00 per teaching hour
We are specifically looking for instructors who are available to teach summer camps 5 days a week — either mornings (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM), afternoons (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM), or both
Shifts are generally scheduled in 4-hour blocks to allow time for class setup and cleanup
Daytime, after-school, and occasional weekend shifts available
Instructors are welcome to submit simple, creative lesson plans for review. Approved plans earn $15 each — a fun way to share your ideas and contribute to our curriculum.
If you love working with kids, have a strong background in art, and want to be part of a supportive, creative community, we’d love to meet you!
To apply, please email your resume and a few photos of your artwork. Thanks!
