Handyman (maintenance technician) Job Description
What is Golden Home Management?
We are a one-stop shop for anything and everything related to people’s homes. We’re a relationship business that allows homeowners to have one person to text/call/email to solve any problem, or make any enhancement they could ever dream of for their home.
1. We offer a regular maintenance plan where we take on the ongoing maintenance that every home needs.
2. We take on our subscribers one-off projects that vary in size that include repairs, renovations, or remodels such as a plumbing leak, a new flooring project, or even an addition to a home.

What does it mean to be a Maintenance Technician?
As the maintenance technician of GHM, you’re the boots-on-the-ground force that keeps our clients’ homes safe, functional, and beautiful. You’re not just handy - you are a critical team member and a trusted presence in our subscribers’ lives. You embody our values, take pride in your work, and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-minded environment where no two days are the same.
Schedules will be set weekly and provided by the end of the day on Thursday the week prior.
Minimum of 15 hours per week to start.
We are growing very fast and expect this role to grow into a full time position in the near future.
Job Duties:
Most days will consist of completing our quarterly maintenance subscription visits that include:
Lubricate garage door moving parts
Tighten hardware on doors, windows and cabinets
Apply caulking to seal major gaps around windows and doors
Clean gutter downspouts
Clear debris from exterior window sills
Prevent rodents and pests by sealing cracks
Vacuum refrigerator coils
Blow out dryer vent
Clean filters in washing machines and dryers
Clean dishwasher filter
Test water pressure and GFCI outlets
Lubricate door hinges and locks
The person in this role must be able to perform all these items, or learn them.
Beyond the above list, other duties might include:
General home maintenance and repairs: Perform routine preventative maintenance (ex. changing filters, tightening hardware, inspecting systems)
Documentation & Communication: Communicate with the home coordinator about work performed and potential future issues - remember: Team No Surprises.
Field visits: Travel locally to client homes in a company provided vehicle. Represent GHM with professionalism!
Pricing determination: Collaborate with the home coordinator to assist in providing home solutions and estimating help.
Qualifications
We REALLY care about communication skills. Be ready to answer what “Team No Surprises” means to you.
Ability to use basic tools for tasks outlined in the job description above.
Ability to problem solve and provide ideas on solutions for maintenance needs.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Creativity and strong organizational skills. Being a self starter and a team player is crucial.
Valid Texas drivers license and willing to travel locally in a company provided vehicle
Being buttoned up and professional with clients and vendors
Startup Minded: While we have Processes and Systems, they are dynamic. We need you to thrive in a fluid environment, and not feel overwhelmed by it. Ideal candidates will be self starters and not require rigid structure and processes.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly Position - $18-$20/hour based on experience.
This is an hourly role. We’d like you to plan time off with us in advance. We want you to take time off! PTO will accrue with hours worked in the month prior.
Other benefits include 13 holidays including the full week between Christmas and New Years.
