Job Summary:
We’re seeking kind, reliable individuals to assist a creative and resilient person with daily tasks. This flexible, part-time role is open to anyone willing to learn and contribute meaningfully. Ideal candidates are compassionate, efficient, and value open communication.
About the Role:
This position involves six daily shifts to support a catheterization program. You have the choice to select any/all, tailoring your schedule overtime. The catheterization itself takes only 10 minutes, but caregivers are typically in the home for 20–45 minutes to provide additional support, fostering independence and self-actualization.
Who We’re Looking For:
Caregiving is a partnership where we work together to sustain independence and joy. It is also surprisingly tremendously straightforward, teachable, and something ANYONE can do/be/learn.
Available daily shifts: people usually spot 2 or 3 a day. I typically have a team of 4 to 8 people primary caregivers—
5:00–6:30/7 AM (longer due to morning prep and tasks)
10:00 AM (20–45 minutes)
2:00 PM (20–30 minutes)
6:00 PM (20–45 minutes)
10:00 PM (20–30 minutes)
2:00 AM (20 minutes)
Caregivers may work any or all shifts, with highly flexible scheduling.
Additional Pay:
$20 per shower session (30–60 minutes)
$20 per standing frame session
we are a queer-friendly household! Nursing students, social work students, and compassionate individuals are encouraged to apply!
About Me:
I (29F) work in nonprofit business administration for the arts and healthcare; I myself am an artist, musician, screenwriter. I do not wear a badge of stress around the disability. I am a human living life in an injured body that now requires the helpful hands of others to sustain. In 2020 I was hit by a car alongside four others while walking across a crosswalk. It was my senior year of college. Someone died that day and I was paralyzed from the chest down without hand function; I’ve never strictly viewed this as a limitation but, an additional perspective to bring to the world and that’s what I’ll need some help with, getting it out there! #DisabilityVisability
