Senior Data Scientist We are adding a Senior Data Scientist to our strong data science team. We are creating a world-class automated platform for our customers that leverages machine learning and data science, and we need creative and talented people to help us realize this vision. This is a hands-on data science and machine learning role working with geospatial and time-series data to deliver fast, accurate forecasts for oil & gas production and anomalies. We are growing our team in order to enable us to deliver solutions to additional challenging and long-standing industry problems for our customers. This is a direct-hire opportunity in Austin, TX. Target salary is 180,000 + Health, Dental, Vision Insurance and a 401 K. There will be bonuses and Equity offered. Local candidates are highly preferred, but remote will be considered.
Responsibilities Work with a small team of data scientists, software engineers and domain experts to build the next generation of Novi's platform . Develop novel solutions to open-ended, challenging and long-standing industry problems . Engage in thought leadership within the company and community . Mentor other team members on domain knowledge and technical solutions . Develop software to deliver solutions to ill-posed problems using sparse, noisy spatiotemporal data. Required Skills & Experience- Minimum 5 years of hands-on data science and machine learning experience
- Advanced degree in applied statistics
- Strong familiarity with Python and PyData stack (e.g., pandas, numpy, scipy)
- Experience modeling time series and spatial datasets
- Experience going from algorithm development to production code
- Experience developing & deploying probabilistic programming models (e.g., Stan, PyMC, Pyro)
- Experience with the software development lifecycle (e.g., git, unit tests, CI)
- Model interpretation and explainability tools (e.g., Shapley, LIME)
- Open-source plotting libraries (e.g., altair, matplotlib, holoviz)
- Database query & ETL (SQL & NoSQL)
- AWS tools (e.g., lambda, EC2, etc.)
- Linux systems and command-line interfaces (e.g., bash)
- Familiarity with ML Frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Previous work on an agile team
