Our goal of securing the world’s workloads and building a brighter future for humanity requires us to focus on reliable delivery of bar raising security outcomes and investment in security mechanisms and automation on behalf of our customers.Key job responsibilitiesAWS Global Services Security seeks a Security Engineer to design security controls and validate our services, solutions, and customer environments meet the highest standards. You'll analyze security of customer-facing services, procedures, and security training/support. Where improvements are needed, you'll address issues, build automation, and mitigate threats. This role offers security skills growth as you work with teams building new technology at scale. Security engineers learn from and mentor others, becoming trusted security advisors. You'll have technical expertise across domains and significantly contribute to the Global Services Security team and groups throughout Amazon. Specifically, you'll support the AWS ProServe organization as they build innovative solutions for customers, ensuring continual high security. You must earn field consultant trust, dive into technical details, collaborate to build secure services, and provide secure approaches for critical customer environments. This requires fostering constructive dialogue and resolving differing security risk opinions. You're expected to plan the ProServe Security Engineering team's work and identify process improvement opportunities. 3+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C or similar object oriented language experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with AWS products and services
Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts for senior executives.
Experience implementing complex security solutions that resolve security and business risk trade-offs and have broad influence across multiple services.
Ability to lead through influence across a broad set of stakeholders at Amazon within a secure development life-cycle for multiple products and technologies, meeting customer expectations for security.

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
