FreeSwitch Engineer

Description We are in search of a FreeSwitch Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be tasked with the development, configuration, and maintenance of FreeSWITCH-based systems within our organization. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Develop and maintain FreeSWITCH-based systems. Utilize programming skills in C, Lua, and Python for telephony system integration. Manage relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL for call data management. Apply knowledge of VoIP protocols like SIP, RTP, WebRTC, and related telephony protocols. Optimize and troubleshoot high-traffic FreeSWITCH systems for optimal performance. Collaborate with global teams, demonstrating excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Use strong analytical skills to solve problems and adapt under pressure. Work collaboratively across teams with diverse technical backgrounds. Apply knowledge of FreeSWITCH architecture design and best practices for scalable deployments, where applicable. Requirements Proficiency in Python programming language Experience with Azure SQL Database Extensive knowledge of FreeSwitch Proficiency in Lua programming language Ability to design, develop, and maintain FreeSwitch applications Experience with complex database management Strong understanding of cloud computing and services Exceptional problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a team and independently Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
