POSITION SUMMARY:The Financial Analysis Lead Analyst, Client Analysis & Consultation position at Express Scripts works in conjunction with Sales and Account Management and various departments within the finance organization to provide financial and analytical support to clients.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work directly with account teams and clients to fulfill client requests, maximize upsell opportunity and model the impact of company initiatives
Proactively identify client performance trends, cost drivers, and savings opportunities
Develop findings based on research and present to the client
Manage client guarantee performance, supporting department and company projects, and working to enhance finance team efficiency through the development of improved financial models and best practices
Query databases to fulfill analytical requests
Support ad hoc analyses and consultation of Express Scripts clients and industry consultants
Conduct in-depth analyses to identify client specific trends, explain past program performance, and recommend opportunities for improvement
Provide clients with plan design consultation and appropriate plan design recommendations through creative modeling and analyses
On-going management of a client’s contract to ensure compliance with financial terms
Understand margin and performance drives, and support Senior Leadership in business management
Participate in department and company projects
Create content to support client visits to THE LAB at Morris Plains, NJ
Develop and improve existing best practices for client support
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field with 4+ years' relevant experience preferred
Knowledge of PBM or Healthcare industry preferred
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, advanced ability with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Create and run queries against Express Scripts database; experience with SQL a plus
Develop Excel models to analyze and explain cost trends; experience with data visualization a plus, e.g. Tableau; create PowerPoint presentations that detail financial performance
Strong written/verbal communication, including presentation skills; comfortable discussing and explaining complex concepts to audiences with varying levels of knowledge of the subject
Entrepreneurial attitude and curiosity; strong understanding of client analytics, financials, and value trade offs; modeling, trending and forecasting skills
Relationship building and collaboration
Ability to take ownership and deliver results; take initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Comfortable with up to 10% - 15% travel
