I'm getting my ass kicked. Seriously. I need backup.
Let me clarify: I'm not actually being assaulted by thugs.
However, I am behind on landscape gardening jobs, have a greenhouse and garden center to clean up and expand, plus am failing to produce on many other projects. There is only one of me and I cannot be in two places at once.
That's where you (might) come in!
I need help from a person who:
Isn't afraid of hard work.
Doesn't mind getting dirty.
Can lift 50 pounds without help.
Can operate weedeater and ideally (not require) chainsaw.
Has a vehicle.
Can work a flexible schedule sometimes including very short notice.
Is capable of shifting gears and changing direction quickly when needed.
Either isn't on drugs or at least can hide it really, really, really well so neither I nor my customers ever catch on.
Is presentable. My customers are generally civilized folk in the upper middle class range so I can't have a scary helper or someone incapable of basic, pleasant conversation.
Can keep a schedule, meaning arrive on time and not skip out on planned work days.
Basically competent with a range of tools from gardening tools to wrenches, hammer & nails, et al
Work involved can include:
Helping me plant trees & shrubs.
Planting trees & shrubs without me using techniques I teach.
Mulching with bagged mulch.
Carrying and moving tools and materials (bagged soil, spades, rakes, etc.)
Running errands such as picking up meds from the vet, picking up printed material, delivering flowers to customers, going to the grocery store for me, etc.
Confirming appointments by phone (customers, attorney consultations, escort services, etc.)
Weedeating a creek bank and other areas around greenhouse (approx 2-3 hour gig).
Misc. handyman (or handywoman) stuff from building bird houses and assembling feed troughs to swapping the battery in a riding mower or airing up the tires on a utility vehicle.
THIS COULD BE THE EASIEST HARD WORK YOU EVER DO!
I need the right person. Right attitude and work ethic, patience, consideration of others, easy going but still ass kicking.
I am a spaz. I can be scatter brained. I'm sometimes a pain in the ass. I'm also a hard worker and require the same work ethic from help.
I am also respectful, kind (usually), laid back and understanding. The only thing I will not tolerate is the need to baby sit a grown person - I've had enough of that nonsense.
Someone who comes in ready to rock and roll and who has my back when needed will find I am loyal to the end and will go out of my way to look out for them however possible.
WHEN AND WHERE
Work begins at Rockhouse Grdens in Sulphur Springs or a designated customer proeprty or other meeting place we discuss.
WHAT'S THE MONEY?
I can start you at $15 an hour, which I realize is not a load of cash. It is however "cash money" meaning untaxed labor. I can raise the rate once we get rolling and find a rhythm.
Payment will be made variously, meaning:
- Friday is the norma payday for all company work.
- Some gigs will pay cash at the end of the day or the end of the project.
- Other projects are considered contract labor, meaning I can tell you at the beginning when the loot will be available. This might be in a couple of days, a week, or at the end of the month all depending on the payment terms I negotiate or have in place with the other end or the customer.
I clarify this all up front to avoid issue but there isn't going to be a problem getting you paid. Between Friday and any daily cash gigs you'll have loot every week. The contract gigs that run long are uncommon and worth it at the end as bonuses apply.
I honestly don't know how this plays out. It's possible you end up working mainly for the landscaping service or garden center, but equally likely you become my goto guy or gal who does a little bit of everything.

This process involves no application, no training videos, etc. After I read the email I will reply with a number to folks of interest. After a phone convo we meet in person to check each other out There's no drug test or thorough background check, although I will have a buddy with the police check you out for violent offenses (my family are involved with this work) and theft related charges.
