The Manufacturing Engineer will implement new manufacturing processes that support industrialization of new products and processes. The successful candidate will foster collaboration and team building. Candidate will have experience in leading continuous improvement activities that increase OEE (Uptime, Cycle Time, Quality) for both manual and automatic processes. Successful candidate will prioritize and organize own work to deliver to agreed deadlines. Applies knowledge/skills to a variety of standard day to day activities. Identifies and solves problems in straightforward situations; generates possible solutions, analyzes each using standard procedures. Contributes actively in team activities, sharing experience and ideas. Builds productive relationships within and outside of own team. Typical experience consists of a University degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing.KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify chronic manufacturing problems impacting uptime, quality and cycle time. Implements countermeasures to improve operation KPIs.
  • Adjust work balance and work instructions for manual operations
  • Identify bottlenecks in processes and implement countermeasures
  • Generate procedures for technicians to maintain equipment uptime (TPM, Startup, Shutdown, etc)
  • Partner with operations supervisors to support area performance
  • On time, on budget delivery of all projects that meet objectives
  • Support projects and leads activities related to process equipment installation and startup
  • Supervise equipment installation and startup
  • Work with operations to develop work instructions sheets for assembly operations
  • Implement specific Manufacturing Engineering actions for new Product Projects or other Projects (Capacity, Efficiency, Improvements…) in cooperation with Plant Manufacturing Engineering.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing production environment
  • Engineering techniques and methodologies (industrial, manufacturing, etc)
  • Strong computer skills particularly Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design concepts and practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement for both manual and automatic processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Standardized Work Instructions
  • Problem solving skills and proven ability to solve complex technical issues.
  • Strong aptitude for details and data interpretation (Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control).
Additional Job Details: Monday-Friday with potential for weekends based on production plan and project work. To be scheduled typically with 1 week notice. We ask for volunteers to cover Sat and Sun work on a rotation. Hours are usually 7am-4pm but could vary to 6am-3pm.
