Job Summary:
We're seeking multiple line cooks to join our team. Our ideal team member will have a passion for food and at least a year of cooking experience. We are an open kitchen deli concept using great ingredients and making just about everything from scratch. We are looking for full time cooks but are also open to part time schedules. If you're excited about learning great techniques, making great sandwiches, and engaging with some of our guests, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and instruction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items and station cleaning.
- Uphold food safety regulations according to state/federal regs and our own kitchen standards.
- Work in tandem with the rest of the team to ensure our food is prepared properly and in a timely manner. This is a team oriented job and we all want to work well together.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience cooking on a line is ideal, but not required. Some interest or experience in a kitchen is a must.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, basic knife skills, and willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and common allergens.
A little about us:
We're a new Italian deli in Wedgewood Houston serving both classic and creative sandwiches, a selection of homemade prepared foods and deli selections, and a small but powerful grocery section. Our culinary program is led by a chef with many years of experience in fine dining but our atmosphere is approachable and convivial. Our goal is to serve great, scratch-made Italian-inspired food in a comforting, fun environment. We are a great place to learn without the pretense of a fine dining restaurant and our kitchen is open so the entire team interacts, at least a little, with our guests.
