Job Type:Full-time, Onsite

NWI Nashville LLC, a tier I supplier of aerostructure components of commercial and business jet aircraft is seeking a Tooling Engineer I. This position will be responsible for design of special tooling such as assembly jigs, setup templates, inspection check fixtures, etc. Provide technical support to production manufacturing for tooling. Produce high level processing experience as it applies to both materials and techniques for tooling design/fabrication, maintenance/repair and engineering change directives.

Position Responsibilities:

Work in conjunction with manufacturing engineering, operations and quality to develop equipment used in the production of parts, assemblies and manufacturing processes

Responsible for tooling procedures and metrics for monitoring progress.

Works with minimum supervision to ensure the production tooling meets design intent.

Responsible for tooling development, tool design estimates, tool configuration changes that involve cost estimation, tool functional verification, tool usage instructions and implementation into production.

Assist with root cause analysis methods and corrective action implementation.

Continuously improve tooling performance and usage.

Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Basic Qualifications:

5 years of experience in an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering capacity or related.

5 or more years experience with (CAD) Computer Aided Design.

Should have Experience with Laser Tracker software such as Spatial Analyzer, Leica or Verisurf

BS in Engineering (In field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) preferred.

Knowledge of aircraft-specific tooling and methodology.

Knowledge of machining and manufacturing assembly is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing and building jigs and fixtures to locate and secure parts during the various assembly and fabrication processes.

Have good experience with CATIA basic workbenches like Part, Assembly, Drawing, Knowledge Advisor, Knowledge Expert etc.

Experience in designing assembly tools, masters and mechanical and handling equipment tools in an aerospace / manufacturing setting.

Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).

Robust understanding of Design engineering fundamentals such as Parametric Modelling, Design intent with Tool designs.

Should be able to absorb changes in requirements with tool designs.

Must have excellent problem-solving skills.

Should have good communication skills to interact with business and understand their problems.

Should be able to work in dynamic team work environment.

Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment

Must be flexible and ability to work with partners from within and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work.
