Job Description

What We Do:The Renewal Development Representative (RDR) role is an install base sales position for someone who enjoys establishing long-term relationships, closing recurring revenue business and growing existing customer relationships through digitally led activities.

What You Do: The RDR will work with a high volume of existing customers to achieve company renewals and growth goals. This position will also work closely with our marketing organization on inbound customer leads as well as digital chat originated through the PayScale website.

Day-in-the-Life:As a Renewal Development Representative, a typical day may include the following…

  • Renew, up-sell and close on-time contracts from core customer base in a queue like approach
  • Generate upsell / expansion opportunities, through marketing generated leads, tech touch leads, and inbound chat
  • Focus upsell efforts on products within the Core customer segment identified as strategic growth opportunities
  • Protect customer install base through save play and win back motions
  • Increase sales penetration at existing accounts
  • Build deep relationships with Customer Success Managers to understand customer’s objectives and accelerate their path to value
  • Utilize data and insights from tools and cross-functional resources to create the customer renewal sales strategy
  • Observe and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant reports and information

First Year in Role:

  • Month 3: They will have a basic understanding of our products and service offerings, a general understanding of compensation as an industry, an introduction level understanding of our tools, and a strong understanding of our internal organization structure.
  • Month 6: : They will have an intermediate understanding of our products and service offerings, a basic level understanding of our tools and the ability to create quotes and have renewal conversations with customers, and a strong understanding of our internal structure and who to engage/when.
  • Month 12: They will have a strong understanding of our products and service offerings, an intermediate level understanding of our tools. Has the ability to drive strategic renewals conversations and will be proficient with in-cycle and out of cycle upsell strategies and process.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Experience with install base customer sales and meeting quotas
  • Expertise in collaborating with sales and marketing teams to drive growth

Brittany joins PayScale to lead this team from a long background within SaaS and technical companies. Brittany has owned renewals and managed a team of renewals sales reps and understands the ins and outs as well the demands of the role.
