The position of Software Engineer within the IS organization will be a key team member leading the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software, as well as assisting with production/ deployment support for applications, tools, cloud services, etc.
Your Responsibilities- As a member of the K+N software engineering team, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the development, debugging, or designing of enterprise software applications or operating systems.
- You will provide technical and thought leadership to other software developers and design and implement changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers, data science, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
- Work alongside other software engineers, leads, architects on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.

- Broad and extensive knowledge of Waterfall/Agile development methodologies.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related work experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the following computer languages and technologies:
- Python within an enterprise environment
- Familiarity with HTML / JavaScript / CSS
- Strong knowledge of python based web frameworks such as Django 2+ years
- Backend operations, modeling, schemas, managers, management commands, etc.
- Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM)
- Frontend and backend development experience.
- Experience with MySQL - database design, development, creation, and maintenance: efficient query structuring.
- Strong in GNU+Linux OS and command-line operations – Debian and OpenSUSE.
- Experience with Code Repositories and CI/CD interfaces like GitLab, Jira, Jenkins, etc.
- Excellent technical documentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- API development (implementing and communicating for remote services).
- AWS familiarity with cloud infrastructure is a plus.
