Title: IT Security AdvisorLocation: Memphis TN 38125 USDuration: 12 Month’s (Contract to Hire)Pay Range $50.00 to $58.00/hr.We are looking for a “IT Security Advisor” to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.Job SummaryThe primary purpose of this role is to implement security measures to protect computer systems, network, and data, as well as triage security alerts and serve as an escalation point for the Global Security Operation teams. The Security Operations Senior Analyst must be proficient in the latest IT and Information Security intelligence, including hacker methodologies, vulnerabilities, and exploits, to anticipate security shortfalls. They must be experts in basic IT security fundamentals and be able to quickly master a broad range of security tools.Responsibilities:
Detection, monitoring, analysis, and resolution of security incidents
Administer and train subordinates on various IT security tools and applications
Perform analysis of suspected malicious code and other software or programs and provide written or verbal analysis to management
Lead IT groups and business units as necessary in troubleshooting compatibility issues between security tools and business or productivity programs
Analyze client and customer needs as required and provide clear and concise reports to leadership
Work closely with management on assigned projects from inception through implementation, ensuring adequate internal communication and user involvement is maintained
Assist team members in investigating IT or cyber-security events and developing resolutions
Provide feedback and suggestions to management to improve IT Security processes and procedures
Work closely with project managers to meet and complete project milestones accurately and on time
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related IT field (pursuing preferred).
Experience
3-5 years of experience as a Sr. Security Operations Analyst or similar role.
7 years of experience with:
Operating systems.
Desktop productivity software.
Networking concepts (e.g., Network Topologies, TCP/IP, OSI Model).
Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
Threat hunting and digital forensics.
MFA, encryption technologies, and access control systems.
Leading security investigations and troubleshooting incidents.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with Carbon Black Protection or ThreatLocker.
Experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, or Google Chronicle.
Knowledge of web proxies (preferably Zscaler ZIA) and CIS hardening.
Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and emerging security technologies.
Security engineering, audit, compliance, budgeting, and software procurement.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of CIA triad and IT security frameworks.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
Proven leadership skills, especially in managing networked systems and teams.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and continuously learn new technologies.
