Warehouse Automation Systems Lead

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is currently seeking a Warehouse Automation Systems Lead to join our team in LaVergne, TN (Greater Nashville area). This person provides support to the warehouse automation systems, AutoStore and Geek+.  They will have expertise in warehouse automation to lead all change-related activities for the warehouse automation process. This position is hybrid and requires a minimum of 3 days at our corporate offices.Want to help explore and build new ways to deliver content to the world? At Ingram, our Technology team is blazing a trail by providing content distribution services to thousands of publishers with key initiatives around business intelligence, machine learning, continuous integration and omnichannel.  We support diverse people and technology that highlights innovation through SaaS platforms, metadata, cloud, and containerization.   Our teams are agile, and emphasize authenticity, creativity, and transparency upon a fact-based foundation. The world is reading, and it is our goal to connect as many people as possible to the content they want in the simplest ways.  If you are an IT professional who strives to deliver results through collaborative partnerships, understanding what drives business, and enjoys working in a connected culture, we can’t wait to meet you! The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field or year for year directly related experience8 + years’ experience working with JAVA and SQL5 + years’ experience working with database query, high availability applications, event-driven services2 + years’ experience working with APIs2+ years' experience leading project and initiativesWe have a preference for: Knowledge and experience with PC engineering and network configurationsKnowledge of PLCs and conveyor systemsKnowledge of general understanding of database structures and query approachesKnowledge of Business or application of distribution applicationsKnowledge of organization, and operating procedures for the Warehouse and manufacturing aspects of the company.Knowledge of order processing, fulfillment, and/or distribution systemKnowledge and understanding of warehouse IT infrastructure, including server management, networking, and cloud-based systems.Ability to query databases and interpret automation system logs for troubleshooting.Familiarity with APIs, middleware, and integration methods between warehouse automation systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP platforms.Experience in applying software updates, patches, and system version upgrades for warehouse automation solutions.Strong analytical skills to assess system performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend optimizations.The Warehouse Automation Systems Lead key responsibilities are:Serves as the key liaison between warehouse operations, logistics, IT developers,  IT infrastructure, and automation vendors.Leads system enhancements by working closely with automation vendors and IT developers in system changes, integrations, API connections, and software updates while assessing impact on warehouse workflows.Ensures operational continuity by coordinating and validating any system upgrades, minimizing disruptions to warehouse operations.Drives issue resolution through proactive troubleshooting and escalates system issues to vendors when necessary, following up on resolutions and leading root cause analysis (RCA).Develops and maintains automation best practices by documenting system incidents, resolutions, and key operational protocols including disaster recovery stategies.Stays updated on the latest trends in warehouse automation, robotics, and AI-driven logistics.Provides first-level support for the selected third-party automation vendor’s software forquickly restoring the service to normalcy, limiting the overall business impact.Performs routine operations for automation such as:Restarting services related to automation.Bringing automation systems down and back up following a sequence of eventsParticipates, contributes and represents IT teams for the Business continuity plans for the warehouse operations.Hiring Salary Range: $108,000k - $138,000k. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. It will be determined by factors including but not limited to:  the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, geographic location, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
