CDE Lightband serves over 80,000 metered homes and businesses with electric service and over 30,000 customers with broadband services over our Fiber to the Premise Network.To better meet the needs of our customers, CDE Lightband shall offer a weekend shift for full-time Operation Line Crews (Full-time employment as defined per Policy 3-23). We are seeking a candidate to join our Electric Line Worker Team to fill the Foreman Electric Line Worker position.Applicants must have at least seven years of experience in electric distribution line work, including completing a five-year line worker apprenticeship program approved by the DOL, Bureau of Apprenticeships and Training, and two years of experience as a Journeyman Line Worker.Foreman Electric Line WorkerTeam/Division:Operations / ElectricReports To:General ForemanJob Status:Full-TimeWork Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 am - 7:00 pmPay Status:HourlyFLSA Status:Non-ExemptPay Grade:LT3 Created/Updated: December 2017Job SummaryHighly skilled and trained position, expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative while working to oversee and supervise the activities of all lower-level Electric Line Workers, including Journeyman Line Workers, with the Supervision of a General Foreman. Incumbents participate, coordinate, plan, and prioritize all work activities of the lower-level Electric Line Workers, including Journeyman Line Workers, to construct and maintain the overhead and underground electrical service distribution systems. Responsibilities may include installing, repairing, replacing, and inspecting equipment and materials required to transmit and distribute electric power. Work performed may need to be done while energized. Responsibilities also include training Apprentice and Journeyman Line Workers to further their skills and abilities, continue personal development and continuous learning, and perform the duties of a Journeyman Electric Line Worker as necessary. Employees are also expected to maintain an inventory of standard parts and equipment and keep records of activities as required per policy and procedure. Responsibilities include upholding and enforcing the highest safety standards per the American Public Power Association (APPA) Safety Manual and other safety policies, rules, and regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and recommending hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.

Supervises the day-to-day operations in Electric Line Maintenance and Construction, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; developing and coordinating work plans; participating in the development of goals and objectives; and, monitoring compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards

Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions; Installs, maintains, and repairs of electric systems, which may include: Constructing, installing, remove and service secondary distribution lines both overhead and underground performing work on both energized and de-energized lines. Frequently requires digging when installing poles, anchors and underground l nes.

Effectively capable to climb utility pole to safely perform work when necessary, and all safety requirements on an annual basis

Operates vehicles of various sizes, weights and descriptions in a safe and cautious manner, following all local, state and federal rules and regulations to include DOT and Commercial Driver's License requirements.

Attend regular training as required; attend any other meetings, trainings or other required programs as set forth to include all safety meetings and maintain and follow all safety requirements as set for by CDE Lightband, APPA, OSHA, TOSHA and any other local, state or regulatory agency.

Monitors and maintains inventory of parts and equipment to maintain accurate outgoing and incoming connections with assigned work

Responds to and resolves complicated customer complaints, explains programs, policies and procedures

Prepares and maintains a variety of operational reports and paperwork to be submitted as stated to include safety reports, work orders, and others as assigned.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience: At least Seven years' experience in electric distribution line work to include: completion of five-year line worker apprenticeship program approved by the DOL,

Bureau of Apprenticeships and Training and two years' experience as a Journeyman Line Worker; Lead Journeyman Line Worker experience preferred but not required

Certifications and Licenses: Completed Apprenticeship Training to receive Journeyman Standing Commercial Driver's License CPR/AED or ability to obtain upon hire

Other Requirements: Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job also considered
