Service Technicians have a variety of job duties. This includes repairing foodservice, refrigeration and HVAC equipment either at the shop or by driving to customer locations. It also includes installations, general maintenance and customer education of how to properly operate and maintain equipment.
Service Technician Job Duties:
Providing a professional appearance and work ethic on the job.
Being on time to jobs and meetings as scheduled
Running and checking out on calls according to Dispatch Guidelines and On Call Guidelines
Checking and gathering supplies for upcoming jobs.
Performing service and/or installations by always repairing/installing equipment to factory specifications.
Generating accurate and complete descriptions of work done as well as equipment info and signatures on Work Orders
Getting part numbers and generating parts orders and/or estimates in a timely manner to keep customer equipment up and running
Identifying warranty work by verifying serial numbers and communicating with manufacturers as necessary before
repairs are done
Following Third Party and Warranty Guidelines, if necessary, when doing repairs.
Following ATECH vehicle policies and guidelines.
Keeping, tagging and returning to the shop warranty parts for return to manufacturer
Protecting the customer’s interests by quoting expensive jobs and offering alternatives when cost of repair exceeds
50% of equipment value.
Maintaining a safe environment by following industry standards and procedures
Complying with traffic and driving regulations.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading service publications and getting CFESA Certifications.

Good communication skills with ability to communicate with customers, manufacturers, dealers & staff
Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
Ability and willingness to multi-task and help in other jobs as needed
Good phone etiquette, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules including working overtime as needed and being in an On Call rotation.
Detail oriented in work performed and paperwork follow-up
Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service foodservice, refrigeration and HVAC equipment
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial service and/or installation of commercial foodservice equipment, kitchen/restaurant equipment and/or HVAC.
Successful completion of an accredited Technical/Trade school preferred
