This individual works closely with physicians, physician office staff, and internal/external customers to provide accurate, timely, and responsive information in accordance with hospital core values and policies. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that organizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.The Scheduling Specialist position requires the utilization of clinical knowledge to schedule appropriate procedures/surgeries according to both the physician orders and schedule availability. This individual works closely with physicians, physician office staff, and internal/external customers to provide accurate, timely, and responsive information in accordance with hospital core values and policies. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that organizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.QualificationsRequired Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Completion of an advanced medical certification or degree, i.e, medical assistant certification, certified nursing assistant, medical coding degree required.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1+ years surgery scheduling or related experience.

PREFERRED Qualifications

Excellent customer service skills,

Flexibility to work different shifts and assist in different roles.

Knowledge of surgical and/or endoscopy terminology highly preferred.

Experience with electronic medical record software preferred.

Pay Range$16.50 - $22.36 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
