Job SummaryThe Release of Information Manager is responsible for the successful comprehensive release of information process. The Manager will plan, organize, and manage the release of information team and associated operations over release of information staff throughout the Avera Health System. This includes, but no limited to supervision and education of personnel, processes and staffing to attain and maintain established goals, and meeting legal/regulatory ROI requirements. The Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring performance and quality metrics, as well as metrics relative to ROI impacting patient care and revenue cycle. The Manager will assist in the establishment of performance metrics, policies and procedures, departmental objectives, and other administrative tasks. The Manager will be expected to have day to day involvement with various leaders and staff across the organization, including internal and external stakeholders as necessary. Key to this position is strong leadership, teamwork, and process management/improvement abilities.Education and/or Experience
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is required.
Degree in health information administration from an American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) accredited school preferred or an equivalent health care field accepted.
A minimum of two years of previous health information management experience preferred.
A minimum of one to two years of leadership experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
AHIMA’s certification preferred: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
