Description We are looking to hire a Staff Accountant based in Irmo, South Carolina, who will be a part of our diverse and dynamic team. The position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting with month-end closing, accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, cash application, check runs, and utilizing QuickBooks desktop.Responsibilities: Assist with month-end close procedures including the preparation of journal entries and general ledger management. Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Prepare financial statements and reports for review and decision making. Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Handle cash application procedures and ensure timely check runs. Utilize QuickBooks desktop for various accounting activities and report generation. Collaborate with other team members to support overall goals and objectives. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and policies as well as regulatory requirements. Maintain an organized system of accounting records for audit purposes. Continuously improve knowledge and skills in the accounting field, keeping up to date with industry developments.Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations Proficient in handling General Ledger tasks Skilled in creating and managing Journal Entries Experience in conducting Month End Close processes Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
