Assistant Construction Superintendent/Supervisor/Foreman

Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Supervisor, Assistant Foreman to work directly for General Contractor and Developer. Transportation is a prerequisite, pickup truck preferred but not required.

Current job is developing an apartment complex in Northeast Columbia. This person would work directly for General Contractor/Developer to provide onsite presence and feedback when General Contractor/Developer is not there and report directly to General Contractor/Developer. The role would be supervisory, but also physical. This person would work with subcontractors as needed for GC.

Pay is commensurate with skill and experience but approximately +/- $1,000/week. This is a full time position, anyone not looking to work full time, please do not apply. Anyone without transportation, please do not apply and this includes having someone drop you off, job duties may require running to the store to grab supplies. Previous experience as a superintendent, supervisor or foreman not a prerequisite, but a plus. Person must have a construction background and a general knowledge of all trades.

The person we are looking for would have these basic skills:

4. Ability to communicate clearly.

5. Must have transportation.

6. Must know how to follow directions.

7. Must catch on quickly.

8. Must be willing to learn new things.

9. Must be hard working.

10. Must be willing to get their hands dirty.

11. Must be a team player and pitch in wherever needed.

12. Ability to lift normal construction materials.

13. Mastery of measurements with a tape measure.

14. Knowledge of construction drawings or an ability to learn to read construction drawings quickly.

15. General knowledge of construction tools.

16. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, framing, concrete, roofing, drywall, painting, etc required.

17. Ability to go on a ladder to reasonable heights.

18. Ability to work in heat and cold outside.

Job Duties:

1. Must have transportation.

2. Work directly for GC/Developer.

3. Communicate with GC on progress each day.

4. Know who is on the jobsite and what they are doing everyday.

5. Keep track of hours.

6. Pickup supplies from suppliers as may be required.

7. Work with individual subcontractor crews for GC (Concrete, framing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, etc) to move the job along.

8. Ability to learn construction skills you may not have.
