Our expertise has proven highly successful in helping organizations recognize greater value by aligning their strategy and objectives to technology and execution.We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer to join the team in Charleston, SC to support our Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) customer on the Cognitive Radio Inference Technology (CRIT) Project. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the CRIT team to develop a hardware platform and integrate CRIT Signal Management software into the hardware.

Essential Functions:
  • Experienced with embedded hardware engineer and familiar with RISC processors such as IBM ARM, TI TMS470 or Xilinx or Altera System-on-Chip (SOCs).
  • Experience with standard busses (UART, I2C, SPI, PCIe).
  • Experience interfacing to external hardware is required using above busses and installing/developing drivers in an embedded Linux environment.
  • Familiarity with basic FPGA concepts such as timing, basic digital design, and common FPGA interfaces a plus.
  • Familiarity with integration of software define radio and digital signal processing a plus.
  • Support testing team in planning and overseeing all aspects of testing activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in all areas of test automation for project and product teams, including Unit, Functional, Performance, Security and Testing.
  • Effectively use test tools, utilities, and applications to track traceability of requirements, test cases, test scripts and defects management.
  • Provide technical advice to the software development team lead in the planning, analyzing, developing, testing, and implementation of unique and complex 3D Geographic Information System.
  • Work to complete tasks correctly and on time. Actively communicate findings, issues, constraints, delays, and progress to Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) senior program management.
  • Perform detailed hardware and application testing and analysis. Compile findings and formally report them using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prepare documentation to include Test plans, Test reports, Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Job Task Analysis (JTA), and Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) evaluation reports.
  • Conduct Developmental tests (DT) for Marine Corp System Command.

Requirements/Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering (may be substituted for 4 years’ experience)
  • Three (3) years of experience with: Research & Development, Signals Processing, FPGA interfaces, RISC Chips, Software defined radios
  • Experience with ARM tool chains and FPGA tool chains
  • Minimum Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • 8570 Certified a plus: IAT Level II CompTIA Security+
  • The work location is Charleston, SC, and 10% travel expected.
