Location: Providence, RI Salary: Excellent Description: Senior Systems Administrator
This position is responsible for maintenance of Windows server infrastructure, and systems software, assuring that all security, auditing, and restart/recovery functions are properly operating.Monitor performance and provide capacity planning information. Identify areas where improvements are desirable and suggest improvements.Provide assistance and training to other systems programmers and other Office of Information Technology (OIT) technical staff.Evaluate vendor-supplied software and make buy/build recommendations.Resolve particularly complex or critical technical problems.Function as a project manager as required.This position is required to participate in the on-call rotation within the team.Job Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree preferred
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Virtualization Technologies: VMware (preferred) and/or Hyper-V
- Conceptual knowledge of all and in-depth knowledge of some of the following: technical architectures, security, networking, middleware, SDLC, and database systems.
- Expert Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems. Basic/Intermediate Linux Operating Systems experience preferred
- Problem resolution skills; e.g. dump reading, traces, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written)
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and education verification is required. In addition completion of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check is also required
