Job responsibilities include providing personal care to Pappus House residents, light housekeeping, record keeping, and communication with family members and hospice providers.
Empathy, a willingness to learn, and ability to work as a team are the top requirements.
Reliable transportation needed. Training is provided.
General Duties:
Provide quality care and support to residents, family, and visitors at all times
Be prepared to assist in any way needed to ensure smooth functioning of the household
Engage in attitudes and actions compatible with the Pappus House mission and philosophy
Functional Duties
Read and implement the personal care needs as documented by hospice for each resident
Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate end-of-life and post-death care for residents
Counsel and listen to residents, family, and friends of all ages to facilitate comfort in the end-of-life process
Administer, count, and document medication for each resident
Communicate with hospice personnel as needed
Adhere to daily schedule guidelines for assigned shift
Oversee, assist and/or perform meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping duties
Complete accurate documentation - record keeping and shift reports
Comply with all Personal Care Home rules and regulations
Notify the Executive Director of all appropriate problems and concerns
Assist other staff and/or volunteers
Perform other relevant duties as required
Requirements
Complete required Pappus House training and continuing education on an annual basis
Allow for criminal background check and drug screen
Communication Skills
Actions and attitudes compatible with the Pappus House mission statement
Compliance with all Pappus House policies & procedures.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
