Payment and Cash Management Representative II - Patient Financial ServicesLocation: WellSpan Health, York, PASchedule: Full TimeSign-On Bonus EligibleRemote/HybridRegularApply NowSee More EventsSchedulePrimarily Remote; however, may occasionally need to work in the officeFull Time Day Shift (start time between 6 and 8:30 am)General SummaryProvides prompt, efficient and accurate payment posting of all Hospital and Professional Billing accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures. In addition, responsible for working with payment lockbox, matching payments and remits. Also sends manual batching.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:

Performs daily activities of posting and all zero-pay explanation of benefits (EOBS) to accounts.

Reconciles electronic remittance advice with the payments received.

Electronically posts payments received via electronic funds transfer (EFTs).

Ensures correspondence is posted in a timely manner.

Reconciles daily outstanding cash and refers improperly paid account for review and/or refund.

Posts denials, payments, and adjustments according to the Explanation of Benefits.

Analyzes Explanation of Benefits to ensure accuracy of reimbursement and proper adjustments.

Accurately documents all account activity and corresponds to inquiries in a timely manner.

Reconciles PLB transactions received from payers to resolve billing issues/credits.

Completes and maintains work queues as assigned.

Assists with Payment Research investigation and resolution.

Follows all WellSpan's health and safety policies and procedures.

Assists Supervisor or Manager with training new staff, daily huddles as needed.

Assists with creating and maintaining Standard of Work Documents for the department.

Maintains knowledge of Legacy and Third-party systems needed to process payments.

Completes payment research request for payments not posted or accounted for in billing system, ECHO, Lockbox system and/or legacy and third party systems.

Assists Supervisor or Manager in compiling root cause analysis and missing payment reports.

Maintains knowledge of current and federal and state regulations pertaining to payment billing, payment posting, ERA, remittance advices, credits, refunds etc.

Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required.

Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Participates in educational programs, meetings, and mandatory education.

Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

1 year Relevant experience. Required

2 years Revenue Cycle/Healthcare Billing & Insurance Follow up. Preferred

Licenses:

Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist within 1 year Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Able to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
