The Warren Corps cook will be responsible for all meals that are made at The Salvation Army's facility at 311 Beech Street. The cook will plan meals and coordinate volunteers who help with the service of the meals. All preparation and meal plans will be coordinated through the office of the Corps Officers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare meals for lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Plan and prepare meal for dinner on Wednesday
Maintain sound public relations
Maintain good stewardship practices in care of equipment, facilities and grounds
Maintain a clean kitchen and make sure all surfaces are sanitary for the next meal
Maintain all related inventories and statistical records in a professional manner
Any other work required by the Corps Officer in regards to the kitchen and pantry area of the Corps
Maintain proper receipts and accounting procedures for any Salvation Army expenses as required by The Salvation Army accounting guides.
Maintain proper statistics for all meals
Provide written reports as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
Make certain that all Salvation Army owned/rented property and equipment is maintained and kept in good order seeing that areas are kept neat, clear of clutter and clean.
Meet with Corps Officers at least once each week to update them on progress being made in program development and to alert them to any challenges that may require their assistance.
Maintain good Salvation Army public relations within the community.
Be responsible for facility and equipment security, making sure that buildings are properly locked and equipment is stored under lock and key.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have a passion for outreach to unchurched children, youth and adults
Must have a sensitivity to disadvantaged people
Must be in agreement with the Salvation Army International and Warren Corps mission statements
Must be willing to adhere to the Salvation Army employment practices
All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history.
PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of an Associate's degree or work related experience
Meal preparation work experience
A valid Driver's license
