Description [Robert Half is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing analysis, and supporting financial reporting activities.Job Title: Staff AccountantLocation: Sunbury, PAResponsibilities:
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and trend identification.
Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Assist with external audits and provide support to auditors as needed.
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
