Adapted Swim Instructors
Looking for patient and kind individual that has a background in working with children that are differently able, comfortable in water is a must, teaching swim lessons background is a plus.
Shift Needed to start in September:
Saturdays 12 to 1 p.m.
Wednesdays 5-7 p.m.
Private lessons would be available as well.
The Y is a leading non-profit for strengthening community, and the nation’s longest provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes.
Minimum age – 16 years
Lifeguard Certification is preferred
Certifications a plus – CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid
Must be at least 16 years old to apply.
Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA Standards- swim 4 of the 6 strokes in good form.
Preferred YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent
Salary: $15/hr to start

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint and National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them. Free clearances are based on a six-month retention.
