Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, 15201 Pittsburgh USA
Aplica ya

Seeking additional staff (minimum 2 days/week) to help care for a small herd of goats, pigs, alpacas, as well as approximately 300 birds (an ensemble of chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, rheas, and emus) on a 7 acre non-profit farm sanctuary in Cranberry Township. All the animals are rescues here to live out their lives in a safe and healthy environment. This is a physically demanding, outdoor, rain-or-shine, dirty job but is rewarding knowing that you are helping to give a superior quality of life to deserving rescued farm animals, and all of us will thank you for your commitment!

Primary tasks include:

-Cleaning/mucking coops and the barn

-Filling, cleaning, and regularly disinfecting feeders, waterers, and feed pans

-Collecting eggs (we do not sell eggs, they are all cooked and converted into feed for the animals)

-Miscellaneous maintenance projects

-Assisting with special needs chickens if particularly interested

Must be able to safely lift and carry 50 lbs., have a driver’s license, and your own reliable transportation. Previous farm experience or working with animals is not necessary but you must feel comfortable working in close proximity with all of the species listed above.

Typical shifts are 7:30-3:30, but other options are open to discussion. Punctuality, reliability, good communication, teamwork are essential as we have to ensure that all of the animals are cared for everyday.

Starting at $20/hr with ample opportunities for raises.

Thank you for your interest!
