Philadelphia Woodworks, the area's premier open-access woodshop, is seeking skilled individuals to join our team as part-time (nights and weekends) woodworking instructors. Description of Responsibilities:
The primary role of our instructors is to teach group classes and private lessons. Instructors are also expected to be involved with tool maintenance, shop upkeep and improvements, general millwork and material preparation, etc.
Desired Candidate:
- You must have significant experience with fine woodworking and/or fine cabinetry.
- You must have a can-do attitude with a personality that can drive yourself and your team members to accomplish all tasks to the highest standards of craftsmanship and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; outgoing personality.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Dependable car for all weather conditions (required).
Position Details:
Part-time position consisting of some weekend and some weeknight shifts. Would likely start out as occasional (a few times a month) increasing to a more regular weekly schedule (for example, one or two evenings per week and Sundays).
Wages will be discussed based on applicant's experience and the quality of their woodworking portfolio.
Important Note:
Candidate will be expected to volunteer some of their time to audit classes of ours to learn how they are taught and run.
