The Senior Business Systems Analyst will partner functional areas to design, implement, and support new business capabilities, including the provision of daily IT support in relation to the technology systems which enable these functions. This role is accountable for delivering on the technology strategy / vision for the corporate and commercial functions. This role requires a hybrid set of technical, business relationship management, and hands-on IT analyst and system administration skills.

This role requires building a relationship of trust with our stakeholders, anchored by strong technical and domain expertise, and continuous learning and development. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will need to understand the business process, identify business problems and analyze / document business requirements.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst must have the ability to work under general direction within a clear framework of accountability, exercise substantial personal responsibility and autonomy and plan work to meet objectives. This role will act as a liaison between technical teams, senior management, and the business community, including managing communications between business stakeholders and technical teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop relationships with key business stakeholders, actively manage expectations and monitor satisfaction levels, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor/business partner driving industry best practices within the technology framework.

Deep understanding of assigned business functions / processes and coordinate communication among various business groups and IM teams.

Work collaboratively with IM teams, internal business partners and external vendors to identify, understand, implement, and support new business capabilities.

Identify and implement process and/or system changes that improve effectiveness of assigned functional areas.

Analyze and produce business / technical requirements, business cases, project plans / timelines, test scripts, operational support procedures, and SOPs.

Proactively identify and assist in prioritizing opportunities to streamline business and system processes.

Act as a liaison between the delivery teams, vendors and business customers ensuring accountability and delivery.

Lead programs and projects adhering to industry best practices. Ability to manage project resources, scope, timeline, and budget.

Assures project and project teams follow company and departmental policies, procedures and standards, including GxP, CSV and Change control policies.

Identifies issues and leads resolution efforts. Escalates issues appropriately. Analyzes, resolves, and documents system changes needed due to defects, enhancements, incidents, missing requirements or other root causes.

Responsible for business applications life cycle management. Identify and investigate operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the implementation of improvements.

System administration/ownership of technology solutions which includes system configuration, end-user training and operational support.

Building and supporting data integrations between systems.

Develops and assists in the presentation of business cases and system roadmaps.

Monitors and reports on projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field or relevant combination of education and experience required.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in IT with a combination of experience in leading and directing IT solution delivery projects and system ownership.

  • 3+ years of experience working with Corporate and/or Commercial business functions in the Pharma domain

  • Previous Pharmaceutical/life sciences experience
  • Experience with formal SDLC and Agile development methodologies

  • Experience managing business systems in a regulated environment, GxP and computer system validation processes (CSV)

Desirable

  • Pharmaceutical Commercial and Corporate IT experience

  • Bio-tech or Rare disease experience

  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical/life sciences commercial product launch

  • Experience managing & operating medium Human Capital Management (HCM) systems including master data management, integration with adjacent systems or downstream systems nice to have.
  • Knowledge of industry standard cloud-based SaaS solutions

  • Knowledge of cloud hosted infrastructure environment (e.g. AWS and Azure)

Skills & Competencies

Required

  • Demonstrable experience in converting complex business needs into fit-for-purpose, straightforward solutions, with well-managed execution and robust transition to operations

  • Demonstrated understanding and awareness of latest trends in technologies.

  • Experience managing Customer relationships at various organizational levels.

  • Proven experience as a business system administrator including end-user training and operational support and system configuration.

  • Proven experience of building and supporting data integrations between systems
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate to a non-technical audience in clear and concise language

  • Experience with process mapping, documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format.

  • A multi-tasker, able to work in a fast-paced environment without getting overwhelmed easily

  • Versatility and a willingness to work within a change driven environment with enthusiasm.

  • An eye for detail, always ready to put in the extra effort to deliver polished, well-formed IT solutions.

  • Mindful of the employee experience - articulate, confident & well-spoken in all forms of communication, comfortable to be the voice of our customer.

  • Able to work independently as well as with global cross functional teams and time zones consisting of internal customers and external service providers.

Desirable

  • Solid understanding of various project management methodologies to own large project implementations.

  • Experience in implementing and leading change management and governance process, owning deviations and change control in a regulated environment.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction, but also able to follow the processes and policies of large corporations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with good executive presence to interact with senior leadership team from various business groups. Proficient in tools like Power Point, Visio and other tools to develop process flows and presentations.

This is a hands-on customer facing role expected to deliver business solutions, make technical decisions and recommendations, and run daily technical operations.

Post Covid: Travel to Adaptimmune sites as necessary to run operations and execute assignments.
