Position Overview:

The Warehouse Manager in Training is a developmental role designed to equip the successful candidate with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to effectively manage all aspects of our warehouse operations. Under the guidance of experienced management, the trainee will participate in and learn about inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse organization, team supervision, and process optimization. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership potential, a commitment to efficiency, and a desire to contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities (Under Guidance and Training):

Inventory Management: Learn and participate in maintaining accurate inventory levels, conducting cycle counts and physical inventories, and investigating discrepancies.

Shipping and Receiving: Observe and assist in the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Warehouse Organization: Learn best practices for warehouse layout, storage optimization, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Team Supervision: Gradually develop leadership skills by assisting in the training, coaching, and motivation of warehouse personnel.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the warehouse operations.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Learn and maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other relevant warehouse activities.

Communication: Develop effective communication skills to interact with internal teams (sales, customer service) and external carriers.

Problem Solving: Learn to identify and resolve operational issues in a timely and effective manner.

Other duties as assigned to support the overall warehouse operation and the training process.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.

Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to [Specify weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]) and perform physical tasks associated with warehouse work.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A commitment to safety and quality.

Forklift Operation:

Understanding how to start, stop, and maneuver the forklift, including using the controls and knowing the weight limits and safety features.

Must be able to commute reliably to our facility in Bensalem, PA.
