This position is for an experienced medical office assistant who will work part-time to possible full time as our practice continues to grow. This is a supportive role to help assist our current medical office staff and help cover when staff are out of the office. We’re looking for someone who wants a long-term position in this field; and there is room for growth within our practice. Partial benefits for part-time employees, and additional benefits for full-time.
Candidates must have experience working in a medical office setting and have relevant work references. Work mostly from home for a growing, fast paced, mobile podiatry practice that primarily serves skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and wound centers. The ideal candidate will have a pleasant, can-do attitude, be flexible, and willing to learn new things. You should be a self-starter able to work independently with minimum supervision, but also work as part of a team.
There is some local travel to staff meetings and possibly to our buildings, therefore, candidates should reside in Chester, Delaware, or Montgomery County, and have a license and a car. This position may also require you to work some in-office hours in the future.
RESPONSIBILITES (subject to change)
Help schedule/reschedule patients for multiple doctors.
Data entry – primarily enter patient information into our EMR.
Send chart notes to our buildings.
Main phone coverage as needed.
Assist with verifying insurance, obtaining auths/referrals, inquiries.
Assist with ‘soft collections.’
Various other medical office tasks you'll be cross-trained to be able to assist wherever needed, and help with special projects.
REQURIEMENTS
Experience with Practice Fusion or other EMR is preferred; multi-doctor scheduling experience is required.
Experience verifying insurance, understanding benefits utilizing various insurance portals or by calling insurance, and obtaining/tracking referrals and auths. Assist with insurance inquiries.
Working knowledge of Updox and Point Click Care is a plus, but not necessary.
Must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to comfortably and professionally interact with doctors, nurses, building staff, billing, patients, insurance reps, and co-workers.
Strong computer skills - working knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Docs, email, and online faxing.
Problem solving and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines is crucial.
