Rockwell & Rose, a new upscale steakhouse, is opening in the heart of Washington Square. The new concept is looking for a strong oyster shucker. This is a guest-facing role. The shucker will work alongside our bartending team in the dining room during dinner service. Experience in oyster shucking is preferred. Training will be given to further educate on region, growers, varietals, and flavor profile.
Responsibilities
Execute menu items to our standard with attention to detail, procedure, presentation, and timing.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency on the oyster bar and bar area.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and communication.
Uphold food safety standards and sanitation practices.
Contribute to a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and respect among coworkers.
Maintain a organized and efficient broiler station under pressure and time standards.
Strong knowledge of temperatures for all cuts of steaks, chops, and other proteins.
Qualifications
Oyster shucking experience preferred but not required.
3-4 years of line cook experience in a high volume restaurant, with a focus on raw bar and oyster shucking.
Strong knife skills and knowledge of oysters.
Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain composure
Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
