How You Will Contribute Working under limited supervision, these individuals ensure the safety and security of our building-from staff to the precious art collection. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with a team of support staff and will have demonstrated supervisory experience. Specifically, you will:
Monitor building access, CCTV, and emergency response systems located at all museum locations
Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting and completion of documentation related to reportable incidents
Oversee a security team responsible for ensuring the protection of people and art work at the museum
Perform other duties as assigned
Your background and experience include:
A track record of success with analysis, problem solving, and decision making in a cooperative and coordinated planning environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of emergency response and building security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection is a must.
Computer proficiency – what work above is this referring to?
A high school diploma or GED
At least 2 years related security experience in a similar setting.
Previous supervisory experience in the security and protection services industry is preferred.
Position and Compensation Details
The minimum hourly rate for this position is $19.00.
This position is full-time, non-exempt, and 40 hours per week.
This position requires a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.
This position reports to the Director of Protection Services
Physical requirements:
Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus.
Must be able to perform the essential duties of the role for the entirety of the shift (up to 8 hours)
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work at all museum locations.
COVID-19 vaccination required.
