SUMMARYUnder the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting in the operations of the home infusion pharmacy. This may include sterile compounding, scheduling, purchasing, distribution, Durable Medical Equipment management, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.LOCATION2301 East Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134SCHEDULEMonday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PMESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs cleaning and sanitation of the cleanroom area and infusion equipment according to USP 797 Standards.
Conducts environmental monitoring, testing, and other activities required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP 797.
Assists with recording and maintaining cleanroom logs (temperature, humidity, cleaning).
Assists the Pharmacist in preparing compounded sterile products, including parenteral nutrition, antibiotics, and hydration, in accordance with policies, procedures, and state regulations and standards.
Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations to produce accurate dosages.
Accurately labels and packages medication.
Collects and maintains basic patient information to ensure accurate processing of patient refills and deliveries.
Receives and verifies incoming supplies and medications.
Stocks and stores all materials according to policies and procedures.
Removes outdated medications and supplies as needed.
Verifies lot numbers and performs periodic checks of inventory.
Assists Pharmacists in providing excellent patient care by responding to basic inquiries and answering simple questions.
Creates delivery tickets.
Cleans and maintains IV pumps and records IV pump information according to policies and procedures.
Assists in picking and packing orders for delivery.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBasic Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Active Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT); PTCB or ExCPT tests accepted.
At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
Preferred Qualifications:
IV Sterile Compounding experience
Home Infusion experience

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Computes rates, ratios, and percentages. Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
