As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. Your responsibilities will also include gathering and reviewing data, maintaining and updating records, and handling queries related to payroll. You will also set up users, process expense reports, and create data sets all while reviewing the organization's budget and other payroll and financial matters, ensuring compliance with company, union, and federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate with department managers for timely approval of timesheets. Accurately enter and review new employee setup information. Identify and process registrations for new employee/employer taxes. Utilize UKG payroll software for the preparation of bi-weekly payroll. Ensure accurate processing of payments for employee payroll, taxes, and benefits. Prepare and process payroll journal entries. Conduct routine payroll reconciliations. Handle queries and issues related to payroll from employees and management effectively. Prepare and present various payroll reports as required. Other Duties as assignedRequirements The ideal Payroll Specialist candidate will have: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred. Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role. Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. Knowledge and experience with ADP - Financial Services is a must. Familiarity with Ceridian software is necessary. Experience with IBM AS/400 is desirable. Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System is a plus. Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration is essential. Proficiency in executing Accounting Functions is required. Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required.
