The IT & Media Support Specialist will provide on campus audio/visual and other technology-related support to faculty, student, and staff end-users at both intermediate and advanced levels, deciding independently which approach is appropriate in any given context. This employee must be able to respond quickly and effectively, investigating the nature of the issue(s) and partnering with the end-user, most often without any guidance or a set of steps to follow, to reach a final resolution or decision. He/she will provide audio/visual service and support to Center City and/or University City campuses, assisting faculty in their pursuit of technology-laden and -dependent teaching and learning strategies. As a member of the IMS team the Specialist will coordinate and communicate closely with the Director regarding possible teaching and learning technology enhancements for various venues along with suggestions for providing them in a cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with faculty and multimedia technology colleagues and vendors to monitor, design, and evaluate classroom technology needs.
Participate in designing and upgrading classroom and other learning space technology. Discover, vet, and test emerging applications and hardware solutions associated with classroom, multimedia, and related technologies; recommend modifications/new solutions as appropriate.
Identify user needs and independently research procedures for meeting myriad technology-related challenges, documenting and sharing findings.
Provide faculty and others with telephone, in-person, and email support needed for successful use of classroom audio/video instructional technology. Resolve classroom end-user technology issues, providing timely and creative solutions independently.
Author accurate metrics for evaluating classroom technology adoption and end user requirements.
Provide on campus audio/visual and other technology-related support to faculty, student, and staff end-users at both intermediate and advanced levels, deciding independently which approach is appropriate in any given context.
Understand and assist with effective use of internet/online resources.
Maintain currency in field of expertise along with system and data security, academic property and end-user confidentiality
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Information Technology.

Minimum of a Five to seven years of experience in related field.
Ability to identify, analyze and solve classroom audio/video support problems.
A knowledge of AV distribution and setup is essential, along with the operation of various AV delivery modalities. Clear, definitive communication skills within the team and with end user clients is also essential, along with researching up-to-date industry publications and communiques to remain current with technology solutions.

Additional Information
This position is classified as an exempt grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from 47,490 to 71,230 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
