Gwynedd Manufacturing, a growing defense contractor located in North Wales, PA, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing quality products for the U.S. Department of Defense and various U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. As an innovative company offering a wide array of products, we strive to continuously develop new technology and drive process improvement.We are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our team of highly skilled and motivated professionals in applying the very best machines and methods needed to deliver the Business Plan. This position will be hands-on and drive best practices in production machining processes, new product introduction, capability acquisition and machine tool efficiency and repair.Role & Responsibilities
Lead a team of up to 15 Manufacturing Engineers to deliver Right First Time processes across a variety of machine tools that includes wire EDM, CNC mills, lathes and grinders, and special purpose equipment.
Develop and maintain standards for machine programming, fixture and tool procurement/management, shop floor process instructions, as well as process and measurement system validation requirements.
Effectively manage multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in an environment of rapid product development/improvement. Ensure that team resources are allocated properly to deliver their projects on-time and to the expected standards of engineering excellence.
Assess manufacturing engineering talent and develop the actions needed to improve their skills and contribute to their personal and professional development.
Lead a culture of strict process compliance to ensure product integrity and a safe workplace.
Support continuous improvement through effective problem solving methods and best practices.
QualificationsQualifications and Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum 3 years of experience leading an engineering team in a manufacturing facility
Proven skills and experience in milling and turning using CNC equipment
CNC programming
Strong time management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Excellent communication skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in specifying capabilities of machines and tooling
Experience in an ISO 9001 environment
