The individual in this internship role will acquire hands-on experience by supporting the New Stanton Bureau of Mine Safety (BMS) with the management of the mine map repository. The map conversion tasks undertaken in New Stanton will provide direct advantages to the Mine Subsidence Insurance (MSI) Program. Furthermore, you will be responsible for entering relevant data in a specified format to adhere to the data quality standards established by guidance, training, and policies across all of DEP's electronic data systems, thereby ensuring the precision and thoroughness of the entries.Interested in learning more? Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on a schedule that aligns with the supervisor. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Stanton.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS
Internship Requirements:
Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:
Mining Engineering
Civil/Environmental Engineering
Geospatial Degrees
An approved major course of study at an accredited college or university
Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
Freshman year completed
Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
