ELECT Student Support Specialist:Milton, PAPart time position responsible for providing educational programs for teen parents and providing individual and group services to pregnant teens; coordinating home visits and summer educational sessions for teen parents. The student support specialist will provide intensive case management services and dropout prevention services to the student, maintain required data, and coordinate services necessary to meet the teen parent's individual goal plan. This position will also be responsible for weekly data entry for the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and PA Department of Human Services (DHS).ELECT is an acronym for Education Leading to Employment and Career Training.Position provides intensive case management, dropout prevention and educational services to pregnant and parenting teens.Hourly rate = $19.50 21.50 per hour dependent on qualifications. This non-exempt position works up to 29 hours per week over 260 days per year schedule.Education, skills and experience requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in social work, nursing, education or related fields required. Or will consider an Associate's degree in human services or related field plus three (3) years' experience working with at-risk youth.
Experience as a caseworker or direct service to adolescents or young people and knowledge of pregnancy and parenting preferred.
Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry, email and experience managing file sharing with Google Drive. Experience preparing statistical reports.
Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize the task based on project deadlines. And must be able to type accurately and maintain a high level of productivity.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with staff, school personnel, other agency personnel using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
Must be able to relate well to families with diverse backgrounds.
Maintain confidentiality regarding education programs, students and parents at all times adhering to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements to protect staff and student data.
