TE Connectivity's Automotive Research & Development Engineering Teams lead in innovating and integrating new product ideas into practical applications. They manage the entire product development cycle, from market analysis to production and release. These teams conduct feasibility studies, test new designs, and oversee the design, testing, prototype creation, and production ramp-up. They're also in charge of all essential product documentation, including Solid Models, production drawings, specifications, and testing requirements. Additionally, they work on creating and updating detailed drawings and models based on initial sketches or notes, playing a key role in design adjustments that improve the product's manufacturability and/or quality.As a Sr. Fellow R&D Engineer in TE's Terminal Platform Engineering Team, you'll empower our customers to excel in the rapidly evolving automotive Connection System market. You'll address complex terminal design and technology development projects across various sizes and applications. You will play a critical role in overseeing the introduction of new products from concept to production. Working closely with the cross functional team to define specifications and develop solutions, collaborating with design, tooling fabrication, and product testing teams. This position is based in Harrisburg, PA.Responsibilities:

Lead the development of a connectivity product portfolio.

Adapting and reconfiguring existing product designs for performance enhancements, manufacturability improvements, and cost reduction efforts.

Conducting feasibility studies and communicating best practices within product testing requirements.

Creating all required product documentation including, but not limited to, solid models, drawings, product and application specifications, DFMEAs, tolerance analysis, and test plans & reports.

What your background should look like:

BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Masters' is preferred

10+ years minimum of product design/development experience

Extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of automotive terminals and connectors

Extensive Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly design principals

Proficient in technical tools such as 3D CAD (Creo preferred), CAE (ANSYS preferred), DoE, FMEA, and QFD

Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
