Innovate and Lead: Plan, design, implement, and evaluate educational and applied research programs directly impacting livestock producers, employees, and industry representatives.

Empower Farmers: Provide education and technical assistance in areas such as business management, marketing, health, nutrition, feeding management, production, reproduction, genetics, and nutrient management.

Engage in Dynamic Education: Conduct Extension education programs using a variety of innovative and informal methodologies.

What We’re Looking For:

Educational Background: This position will be filled as an Extension Educator Intermediate Professional or Advanced Professional, depending on the final applicant's experience and education. The Intermediate Professional level requires a master’s degree or higher and 1 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Livestock Experience: Experience in all types of livestock production is preferred, with a strong background in beef or small ruminant production being highly desirable.

Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in a team and engage with diverse populations and audiences.

Mobile and Flexible: Valid driver’s license, access to a private automobile, and willingness to travel the state of Pennsylvania. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Inclusive Mindset: Commitment to fostering diverse, equitable, and inclusive programs.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with proficiency in other languages valued.

Background checks: This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
